El Cobre (sevillana).Composed by Paco de Lucía (1947-2014, Spain) and performed by Juan de Dios Tamayo.
If you remember from the previous post on sevillanas, this style is actually a folk dance that was incorporated into flamenco music with the addition of the Andalcuían cadence and the Spanish Phrygian scale. Its origins lie in the 18th-century Spanish seguidilla which was played exclusively in a major key. You can hear the original studio version played by Paco de Lucía here.
