El Choclo (Classical Guitar + Tango)

El Choclo

El Choclo (comp. by Angel Villoldo in 1903; arr. by Roland Dyens). Performed by Tatyana Ryzhkova.

El Choclo is considered one of the most famous Argentinian classical guitar performance tangos in history. The title,” “choclo,” means “cooked corn on the Cobb” in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay & Perú and the original classical guitar piece actually included lyrics that talk about eating “choclo!” This is the late Roland Dyens’ beautiful arrangement of Villoldo’s composition.
