Agustín Barrios was a virtuoso classical guitarist and prolific composer for guitar. His works, which add up to over 100, are considered some of the most important and influential classical guitar works in the genre. Danza Paraguaya No 1 (this piece) and No. 2 we’re both heavily inspired by Paraguayan folk music and dance as were many of Barrios’ works.
